Valentine Collins and Dicy his wife sell property in Morgan County, Kentucky

 Valentine Collins and wife Dicy sell their property to Rufus Humphrey December 19, 1839.

(pg 45) This Indenture made and entered into this 19th day of December 1839 Between Voluntine Collins and Dicy Collins his wife of the one part and Rufus Humphreys of the other part both of the County of Morgan and State of Kentucky witnesseth that the said Voluntine & Dicy his wife for & in consideration of three hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged hath bargained and sold & by these presents Doth grant bargain & sell unto the Rufus Humphrey his heirs & assigns all that tract or parcel of Land where said Collins now lives Situate and being on the corner(?) by aforesaid on the waters of the Newcum for of Little Sandy and bounded as follows  to wit    in two Surveys on Beginning at a Spruce Pine a corner to a Survey of Henry (?) Base at his Sugar Camp. Place thence East Crossing the fallen branch 36 pole to 3 Spruce Pines on the lope(?) of the cliffs of Nucum thence with the cliffs S47 E 18 poles to 3 Spruce Pines on the Cliffs  S 44 W 60 poles to 3 large white oaks in the gap of a ridge W22 poles to a beech popular and Sugartree N65 W 76 poles to two white oaks On the side of a ridge Same Course continued 300 poles to a Stake N 5 E 60 poles to a Stake S 85 E 310 poles to the Beginning Containing one hundred acres Be the Same more or less  the other on Nucuum For of Little Sandy including A Sugar camp of Henry Bares? and bounded as followeth  to wit) Beginning a A popular & 2 beeches S 40 W 20 poles to a Sugar tree S 60 E 80 poles to a White Oak N 85 E 45 poles to a Spruce Pine N 40 E 80 poles to a stake including the river N 50 W 20 poles to a stake S 12 W 150 poles to the beginning containing 100 acres making 200 acres in the whole tracts be the same more or less  Together with all & singular the appertenances unto the said Rufus Humprey his heirs & assigns forever and the said Voluntine Collins and Dicy for themselves Their heirs & the aforesaid tracts of land and appertenances have conveyed the same to the said Rufus Humphrey his heirs & assigns against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatever doth and will warrant and defend by these presents In witness whereof the said Voluntine Collins Together with Dicy his wife who hereby Relinquishs her right of Dower in & to the lands conveyed to this deed hath hereunto set their hands & seals the day & date first written

Hazelrigg clerk of the County Court for the county aforesaid do certify that this deed of conveyance from Voluntine Collins to Rufus Humphrey was prove ^before me^ by the Oath of Lewis Kendall on the 1st day of August 1840 & on this day by the oath of Pleasant Adams to be the act and deed have and seal of the said Collins for the purpose therein contained and Thereupon the same is Together with this certificate Duly recorded in my office Given under my hand this 28th day of September 1846.
